| Village Walk and Footpath Survey |
|
The sun shone and villagers came out to enjoy the spring weather, including a fellow walker from Hartford who'd seen the write up in the Northwich Guardian.
In total, 18 adults and children and 4 dogs took part in the 3 mile walk, as detailed on the noticeboard outside the Village Hall, and online here, in just under 2 hours. Some extended the walk afterwards with a full trip to the other boundary of the village to enjoy a small drink in the Leigh Arms!

Little Leigh Wanderers, ready and willing to wander!
In general, the stiles weren't in too bad a state - although some do need attention. There are some signs missing and others that need a good clean. A report detailing the findings is being produced. This will be used to assess and prioritise the actions needed in order to ensure the rights of way are adequately maintained.
In general, if anyone notices any problems with rights of way around the village, please contact Sue Griffiths on 891562.

Testing the strength of the bridges by applying 1 Matt..!!
There will be another walk of the same type in the summer to cover other areas.
Also, it's been suggested that there is an evening bike ride to one of the neighbouring village pubs, with some form of return bike-taxi transport provided. The provisional date for this is Saturday 10th June. More details here and in the next Grapevine.
