Creating a Mural for the Village Hall

There'll be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity at Potato Fest for everyone to make their own part of Little Leigh history. A giant mural for the end wall in the Village Hall (the one at the far end from the kitchen) will be co-ordinated by Cheshire artist Jo Gleave, with everyone being invited to get arty and actually create tiles and panels themselves which will be used in the creation.

Jo has done many projects like this before and an example of a piece of artwork entitled Halton’s Viking Heritage which she produced along with local residents at two heritage awareness sessions is below.

The design of the Little Leigh mural will be a montage of the buildings and landscape of the village, with a border of the green stems and pink flowers of potato plants, all done in ceramics, giving a real 3-D and tactile focal point.
